Lets begin.
Remember to save often.
Open the black-n-white checks provided with this tutorial.
Open your foreground material palette, click the pattern
tab and locate the black-n-white checks. Select this for
your foreground.
Open a 500 x 500 transparent canvas. Select your flood
fill tool and flood fill this canvas with the
black-n-white checks.
Go to Layers/load/Save Mask/Load Mask from Disk and locate
Becky's mask, Becky_mask024
Over on your layer palette, right click
on the mask layer and select DELETE. A pop up box will
appear. Hit YES. Right click on your layer palette,
Merge/Merge Group. Right click on canvas/copy.
Open a 700 x 600 transparent canvas. Change your
foreground colour to white. Select your flood fill tool
and flood fill this canvas white. Right click/paste your
mask as a new layer.
Over on your layer palette, duplicate this layer. Go to
Image/Mirror.
Add a drop shadow to both mask layers of
Vertical/Horizontal: 2, Opacity: 80, Blur: 5.
Over on your layer palette, HIDE your white background.
Right click, Merge/Merge All Visible.
Change your foreground colour to black, background NULL.
Select your preset shape set to AltemusBordersFour-/,
Create as Vector: checked, Line Style: Solid, Width: 5.
Holding down your shift key, draw out the shape.
Go to Objects/Align/Centre in canvas. Over on your layer
palette, right click/convert to raster layer.
Select your magic wand. Click inside each portion of the
AltemusBordersFour-/.

Go to Selections/Modify/Expand: 3.
Add a new raster layer. Over on your layer palette, drop
this new raster layer BELOW your AltemusBordersFour-/
layer.
Change your foreground colour to one of your choice. I
used bright red #FF4040. Select your flood fill tool and
flood fill this new raster layer that has been selected.
Selections/Select none. Lower your opacity to 40%.
Activate your AltemusBordersFour-/. Add a drop shadow of
Vertical/Horizontal: 2, Opacity: 80, Blur: 10.
Select your preset shape set to Ellipse, Create as Vector:
checked, Line style: solid, Width: 5. Change your
foreground colour to something BRIGHT (I just used the red
from before...colour will not matter). Background null.
Holding down your shift key, draw out a circle. Go to
Objects/Align/Centre in Canvas. KEEP AS A VECTOR FOR NOW.
Select your Font tool. Change your background colour to
one of your choice (I used white). Put your cursor on the
edge of the circle until you see the letter A appear.
Click and start typing your name around the circle. This
may take a few attempts as it sometimes overlaps, size of
font may be too large/too small, etc. With my name, I used
Arriere Garde, Size 50, and put 2 spaces between each
name.
Over on your layer palette, your vector layer should have
a + sign. Click this
to open it. HIDE the ellipse layer (circle) by clicking
the eye. This will leave the font layer active. Right
click/convert to raster layer (the coloured circle should
of disappeared leaving you a circle of your name only).
Add the same drop shadow just used to your name.
Add your tube of choice, adding the same drop shadow.
